The Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care (MLC) Verification program, offered in collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG),​ has named Archbold Memorial in Thomasville as a Level II maternal care verified facility. The designation recognizes Archbold Memorial as a Specialty Care Unit for maternal services with the capacity and resources to care for low, moderate and high-risk antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum conditions.

Archbold Grady in Cairo has been named a Level I maternal care verified facility. As a Level 1 facility, Archbold Grady has demonstrated its ability to care for ​ low—to moderate-risk pregnancies, but also detect, stabilize, and initiate management of unanticipated maternal-fetal or neonatal problems that occur during the antepartum, intrapartum, or postpartum period until the patient can be transferred to a facility at which specialty maternal care is available.

Support Services for New Parents

As part of preparing for the arrival of your new bundle of joy, we offer several different support services, including educational classes. Classes are currently only offered in Thomasville. Patients from Archbold Grady and Archbold Memorial are encouraged to sign up for these classes at Archbold Memorial in Thomasville. See what classes you can register for below!

Childbirth Classes in Thomasville, GA

Come learn what to expect for childbirth and newborn care. Topics covered include labor, delivery, comfort measures, epidural and pain medication, C-Section delivery, post-partum, newborn care, and infant choking/CPR. A tour of the facilities will be given if census allows, and both breakfast and lunch will be provided. This is a free class and registration is required.

Breastfeeding Basics Classes in Thomasville, GA

This is a prenatal class on the basics of breastfeeding, including the benefits of breastfeeding, milk composition, getting started, how to know your baby is getting enough milk, and more. This is a free in-person class held at 6pm. Registration is required.

Our lactation consultant is available for one-on-one lactation consultations to help mothers in all phases of their breastfeeding journey. Lactation consultations are available for help with latching, increasing supply, increasing weight gain, and helping mothers prepare to return to work or school while breastfeeding and pumping.
