An Overdue Update

Hey, y'all! Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I updated my blog. Honestly, my life is the definition of chaos! Ok. So update. I haven't been able to make it to the gym in a couple of weeks due to having hurt my ankle, and then a stomach bug was passed around our house. So, like I said, it's been a bit chaotic. I have still been doing a lot of walking after my ankle somewhat healed. One day I went with my daughter to meet my youngest son at the Expo, and I walked 6 miles. Due to...

It All Started with a Contest

Hey y'all. So, I'm going to play catch up on my blog. These past few weeks have been nothing short of a whirlwind for me. But hey that's nothing new. If you have been keeping up with my blog, you know by now my life is always in a state of chaos. I swear! Lol I did my first 5k ever, although I did walk not run. Having bi-lateral club feet tends to make me shy away from running in fear of everything, from hurting myself to people watching me and laughing. I swear that's a fear I will...

Liking What I See in the Mirror

So this past week has been a struggle for me. I've been battling with depression, but with the help of my family and friends, I keep pushing forward. I will be honest with y'all, I have gained some weight. It’s not a good thing, but I recognize the problem and I know what to do to fix it. I'm starting some new goals for myself. I'm not focusing on the weight loss itself but on the inches I lose and the muscle I'm gaining. My bat wings, as I call my big, flabby arms, have always been...

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Hey y'all! These past two weeks have been really hard for me. I have had a bronchial infection twice, so that meant a lot of medications. Needless to say I have eaten a lot more than I usually do, and it wasn't all good foods either. On August 17 I lost my daddy. Now that hit me hard. We haven't spoken in two years due to seeing things a bit differently, and the fact he was one stubborn man! But the time apart or our differences didn't mean I loved him any less or that his death hurt...

Pushing Forward

Hey y'all! So, I'm going to update everyone on my last two weeks. First, let me say this, depression and anxiety are no joke. They can affect more than just our mental health. They also affect our bodies, and I've been under a lot of stress and that has triggered my depression/anxiety. Now with that being said, let me tell you how my last weigh-in went. I've gained a few pounds back and a few inches. I was so disappointed in myself. I was determined to do things double time at...

Feeling Good After the Gym

Hey y'all! So, let me update you on what’s been going on the last two weeks. They have been a bit hectic! I moved into a new place and I'm still getting everything in order. And goodness, people, let me tell y'all, I got too much stuff! My dad is still in the hospital, but he is very slowly making progress. I try and go see him as often as I can. He says I'm who motivates him and makes him feel better. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the gym one week due to all the crazy...

Finding Happiness at the Gym

So this past week I didn't get to make it to the gym due to moving into a smaller place, and trying to be there for my family as much as possible. However, I still ended up sore as all get out due to moving furniture. I’ll be honest, I feel like I let myself down this week. I’ll strive to do better this upcoming week! I’m going to hit the gym head on, and I know in doing that I will have a better week. My gym, Body Trac, has become my happy place. Every time I go it seems to...

My Best Workout to Date

This has been my third week of LB Fit, and I've had a few bumps in the road, but despite it all, this week was still a major win for me! I only went to the BodyTrac three days this week instead of my usual five. Monday I worked out with a different trainer, Eric. He's a mountain of a man! His workout kicked my butt! I thought I wasn't going to be able to walk out the gym, but I did! He pushed me and showed me I could do it even when I thought I couldn't. That's what I love about my gym,...

Week 2

Hey y'all! This is our second week of LB Fit 2019 and I just wanted to share what I've done. I hit BodyTrac every morning around 9 am. Most days I'm a little early to get in extra cardio. On Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's I get a 30 minute workout with my trainer Kolbey. The other days I just do an hour cardio. I missed going to the gym on Friday due to an appointment, so that was a downer! But I plan on making it up! I have to say I'm proud of myself for giving this all I got. I'm...

So, when my trainer approached me with being a part of this Live Better Fit 2019 challenge, I was excited! Now, this has been the first week and I thought I would share a little bit.
