Week 1

Hi! I’m Leslie. Since this is the first week’s blog entry, I figured I would briefly introduce myself. I have been going to Thomasville Crossfit since December 2015. I fell in love with TCF and the community on day one and knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be. Crossfit brought me out of my shell. Where I was once a shy, soft spoken person, you now can’t get me to stop laughing and cutting up. I absolutely love Mexican and Chinese foods. Give me all the cheese dip!

I have struggled with my weight since I was 20, ups and downs, highs and lows. Due to financial obligations, I had to take a brief hiatus from Crossfit, and in those 9 months, I gained so much weight. I didn’t even realize it until I saw pictures of myself. On top of not working out, I was eating an overabundant amount of cheese dip, margaritas, and teriyaki chicken, etc. I could have made better choices in the food department, but I didn’t. To put it bluntly, I just let myself go and did not even give my health a second thought.

With all that being said, let’s get to this week! I’m not even going to lie, this week was rough. After several weeks of eating hamburgers, pizzas, Chinese food, Mexican food, ice cream, and pretty much anything my heart desired, it was hard to get back into choosing and eating healthier foods. I was overwhelmed because I was under prepared. I had all my lunches for work done, but not dinner! I went to the store three times this week, and one night I did not want to cook so I just settled for a BLT sandwich. Now, although it was a little irritating, I refuse to beat myself up over this whatsoever, because I know that I can do better. And I know that I will do better. Life just gets in the way sometimes, and the first week is always the hardest. So, here’s to another week of eating healthy, but with more planning.
