Weekend Workouts

I worked out this week at the YMCA with Shawn on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We completed boxing workouts on Tuesday and Thursday. This week was an off week for me. I worked out on Tuesday with Shawn at the YMCA doing our boxing workout, but with a little more added to it. I started this week by switching up my workout plan and began going to spin class on Mondays at the YMCA to try and incorporate a little more cardio into my weekly regimen. Shawn was off at the beginning of this week, so we switched things up with my workouts at the YMCA. I went to spin class on Monday and Wednesday, and worked out with Kim on Tuesday. Spin class was a nice change of pace from my normal workouts and a great cardio workout. Working out with Kim on Tuesday was a nice change up, also. This week was a tough one. Work was a little hectic this week, and that was mixed in with bumping my workouts with Shawn up to 4 days a week. I took Monday off from going to the gym and just walked around my neighborhood with my dog. I was back at the YMCA on Tuesday working out with Kim. I worked out on Monday with Shawn at the YMCA doing our boxing workout. We really ramped up the workouts this week, and I can tell a difference in how my stamina has built up. I spent this week trying to get back into a routine after our trip to France. I spent Monday trying to get my sleep schedule back on track, so I didn’t meet with Shawn at the YMCA, but I did manage to get a walk in with our dog. My wife and I spent this week in France on vacation. While I didn’t get to do any weight-lifting or boxing workouts, I got plenty of steps in as we explored Paris. We averaged roughly seven miles a day walking around the city. The food was not helpful in my weight-loss goals though, as the French apparently only eat bread, cheese, and wine for every meal. We had a blast overseas, but I am happy to be back and be able to get back into a routine at the YMCA.

This week was a busy one for me! My wife and I are leaving to go on vacation for a week on Friday, so I scheduled workouts at the YMCA with Shawn for every day, Monday through Thursday, knowing that I wouldn’t have access to a gym for a week. I met with Hannah, our dietitian, on Monday to discuss my meal plan and get measurements in order to track my progress. The meeting went really well. We talked about substituting out my addiction to all things Little Debbie for healthier sugars, like fruit. We also talked about instead of eating three big meals, because of my naturally slow metabolism, to eat three small meals with snacks in between those meals to let my body know it doesn’t have to store so much of that food while waiting...
