Gail Johnson
I was diagnosed with breast cancer on January 7, 2010. Since that time, I have had a right breast mastectomy, received chemotherapy for 6 months and had radiation every day for 32 days.
Archbold Oncology has been my family for the past 14 months. Thinking back to the very first time I walked into the Oncology Center, I would have never imagined I would be able to get to where I am today. The entire Oncology staff was immediately there to support me each and every moment. They are the most caring, compassionate human beings that I have ever met. I actually looked forward to my treatments, as I knew what awaited me; the love, the hugs and the major support I would be getting from them each time I entered that building. I continuously receive tremendous support through all my family, my close friends and my co-workers. My children are what above all gave me the strength, courage and determination to make it through this long dark journey.
On December 15, 2010, I began the reconstruction of my right breast. I have been so blessed with my treatment team of doctors–my general surgeon, oncologist and plastic surgeon. They took such good care of me, made me feel safe and gave me strong encouraging words throughout my entire treatment.
