“Despite receiving the best care medicine had to offer, the breast cancer invaded her bone marrow and she was hemolyzing her own blood, as well as the transfused blood. Dr. May explained that she would continue current care for as long as we wished, but that would only prolong the inevitable, without benefit to my mom. Dr. May allowed us to give my mother the news at home instead of burdening her with the preparation, riding and exhaustion that accompanied the short trip from Meigs to Thomasville. She arranged for Hospice and they eased her remaining ten days. My family and I will be forever grateful for the kindness, honesty and specialized care my mother received during her illness. Often, cancer can be beat. Although this time it wasn’t, Archbold’s physicians certainly gave their best.”
