Palliative Medicine is specialized medical care focused on the relief of physical, emotional, social and spiritual suffering associated with serious illness. This extra level of care can be delivered at any stage of the treatment process.

  • Hospice introduction/transition

Types of illness or disease seen by Palliative Medicine:

  • Metastatic or recurrent cancer

  • Advanced COPD, end-stage renal disease, congestive heart failure

  • End-stage dementia

  • Stroke with decreased function

  • Neuromuscular disease

  • Any moderate to advanced concomitant disease

Palliative Medicine

Archbold provides inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine services to resdients of Thomas County and the surrounding areas. Inpatient services are offered at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Outpatient services are offered at Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center.
