Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Pelham Parkway Nursing Home recently held a “prom” for residents and their families, themed Dancing Through the Decades.
Residents, staff and family members dressed up in their finest attire and danced under gold and black decorations.
“Our staff and the community really stepped up and made this night one to remember for our residents and their families,” said Scott Kroell, administrator at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. “From the decorations, to the music and flowers, everyone involved truly made it a special event.”
In preparation for the prom, 10 cosmetology students from Southern Regional Technical College helped residents by styling their hair, applying makeup and giving manicures.
A resident Prom King and Queen were crowned, along with a staff Prom King and Queen and a family Prom King and Queen.
“While the night was about our residents, we wanted to recognized the staff and family members who volunteered their time and resources,” said Kroell. “The energy and enthusiasm they put into preparing and planning for this event was evident by the smiles on our residents’ faces.”
Sponsors for the prom included: Pelham Flower Shop, Cottage Flower & Gift, Blooms on Broad, Simply the Best, Theaser Gilbert, Southern Regional Technical College, Kaitlyn Connelly, Maria Adams, Dovie Ross, Summer Snipes, Sheila Dawson, Patti Adams, Haven Woods and family, Nannette Harvey, Mike and Krista Lewis, Grady General Hospital and Morrison Healthcare.
