Archbold Welcomes New General and Bariatric Surgeon

Archbold Memorial Hospital recently welcomed general and bariatric surgeon Joey Jarrard, MD, to the medical staff.

Joey Jarrard, MD, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and biology from Valdosta State University. He earned a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his residency in general surgery at Mercer University/Medical Center of Navicent Health in Macon. Dr. Jarrard completed a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.

“My wife and I grew up in South Georgia and have lived here most of our lives. I am so excited about the opportunity to be in Thomasville and join such a great group of providers at South Georgia Surgical Associates,” said Jarrard. “I look forward to being a part of this community and providing the very best care for patients in Thomasville and the surrounding areas.”

Dr. Jarrard is joining Geoff Deutsch, MD, Ed Hall, MD, Katie Hanisee, MD, Greg Patterson, MD, and Cianna Pender, MD, at South Georgia Surgical Associates in Thomasville. He will be performing bariatric and general surgery.
