Archbold Memorial Hospital was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by the American College of Radiology (ACR), a national professional organization with programs focusing on medical imaging, radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
“By earning the ACR gold seal of accreditation, we’ve demonstrated that our hospital offers the highest level of image quality and patient safety,” said Allison Donaldson, director of radiology at Archbold.
Archbold’s image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs were assessed by a team of board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Accreditation is only awarded to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after the evaluation is complete.
“I’m very proud of our radiology and MRI teams who work hard to provide the highest level of care for our patients,” said Donaldson.
