The Archbold Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is seeking applicants for 2016 scholarships that are given annually to deserving students enrolled in a medical-related field of study.
Two different scholarships are available this year.
The statewide Elizabeth Wilmot Bull Memorial Scholarship is for applicants pursuing a health-related degree at an accredited college, university or health-related technical school in Georgia. The scholarship requires applicants to be at least a sophomore in college and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Each applicant must also provide an official transcript from the school they attend, two letters of reference and a personal narrative related to their occupational choice and goals. Applications for this scholarship are due January 11, 2016.
The Auxiliary is also accepting applications for its Archbold Auxiliary Scholarship that is awarded annually to area students seeking a career in healthcare. Auxiliary Scholarships are funded through Archbold Gift Shop sales and through donations made in memory or honor of Auxilians. Students who received scholarships in 2015 are asked to reapply for consideration in 2016. New applicants and current recipients of the scholarship may pick up an application at the Archbold Memorial Hospital Information Desk. Applications must be completed and returned by February 19, 2016.
“All students seeking a degree in a medical-related field are strongly encouraged to apply for these scholarships,” said Imogene Conyers, Archbold Medical Center board member and chair of the Archbold Auxiliary scholarship committee. “All new applicants for both scholarships will be interviewed by the Archbold Auxiliary Scholarship Committee, and the committee will recommend students for scholarship consideration.”
