Today is Wellness Wednesday!

It’s important to eat healthy foods and to stay active to help keep your immune system working properly so it can help your body fight off illness. Here are some helpful tips to help your body stay healthy!

  • Get at least 60 minutes of medium to high intensity exercise at least 3 days a week! This can include running, jumping, riding a bicycle or playing outdoor games with friends and family!
  • Remember to eat foods that are good for you like protein, whole grains, vegetables and fruit!


Why is it important to stay active and healthy?

Regular exercise helps your immune system function and eating a healthy diet is important for keeping your immune system at its best!

Today is Wellness Wednesday, and September’s Move of the Month is jumping jacks!

Jumping jacks are a great workout for your whole body! They work your heart, lungs and muscles at the same time, which helps you run faster and jump higher.

Let’s try doing a jumping jack together!

Stand with your legs together and arms at your sides. Bend your knees slightly and jump into the air. As you jump, spread your legs to be about shoulder-width apart. Stretch your arms out and over your head. Jump back into the starting position. Yay! You did a jumping jack!

It’s Wellness Wednesday!

Colorful fruits and vegetables provide us with vitamins and minerals our bodies need to stay healthy!

It’s important to brighten your plate with vegetables that are red, orange and dark green! These colorful veggies provide us with Beta Carotene, which our bodies turn into Vitamin A that helps our heart, lungs and kidneys work properly!

Vitamin A is also important for eye health – so remember to eat your veggies so you can see what’s going on in class!
