Today is Wellness Wednesday, and Live Better is introducing the superfood of the month – lettuce!
Lettuce is a member of the vegetable group and a power plant that is full of vitamins! There are many types of lettuce, like red leaf, iceberg and romaine!
There are many ways to incorporate lettuce into your meals, so tell your parents to visit the Live Better website for some yummy recipes!
Move of the Month tip for December 9th:
Today is Wellness Wednesday, and Live Better is introducing the Move of the Month – running!
Running builds strong bones and strengthens muscles, and also keeps your heart healthy!
Here are some ways to make running fun:
- Play tag with family and friends
- Organize a timed relay race
- Play games like ‘Mother May I?’ or “What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?’
- Setup an obstacle course

To make healthy choices, it is helpful to understand what’s on a nutrition label. A nutrition label can be found on food packaging that your parents buy at the grocery store.
The labels gives us helpful information like the serving size, the amount of calories, the amount of added sugar, the vitamins and minerals, along with a list of ingredients.
