This level of care is determined and approved by the Hospice Medical Director and the Interdisciplinary Team. Archbold Hospice offers inpatient hospice services in our John B. and Elizabeth V. Wight Inpatient Hospice Center, located inside Archbold Memorial in Thomasville, Georgia.

Hospice is designated for patients with terminal illnesses. Traditionally, hospice is an option for people whose life expectancy is six months or less, and the type of care focuses mostly on pain and symptom relief, rather than curative measures.
Yes, no one is refused hospice services on the basis of race, religion, age, sex, ethnic background, handicap condition, or financial resources. As long as a patient is in need of end-of-life services, anyone may refer a patient to hospice, including a family member or loved one. However, a physician's order is required to admit a patient into hospice care.
Hospice offers services based on need, rather than the ability to pay. Payment for services is accepted from commercial insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and on a private pay basis.
Family members play a vital role in the care and wellbeing of hospice patients. We offer many support services for family members, so you’re able to focus on enjoying quality time with your loved one.
Support services that may be helpful for family members throughout their loved one’s hospice care include:

This day camp is funded through designated gifts made to the Archbold Foundation. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Camp Heal is available free of charge to any child who has experienced a loss. The next Camp HEAL we'll be held on September 23, 2023.
