Grady General Hospital | Swing Bed Program
Swing bed (also commonly referred to as sub-acute care), is a level of care defined as comprehensive inpatient care for someone who has an acute illness, injury or exacerbation of a disease process.
Swing bed is provided on an inpatient basis for patients needing services that are more intensive than those typically received in skilled nursing facilities (nursing home), but less intensive than what is required for a short-term acute care hospital stay.
Grady General Hospital’s swing bed program offers patients high-quality, inpatient rehabilitation services close to home.
