ARCHBOLD AUXILIARY ACCEPTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR 2018

The Archbold Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is seeking applicants for 2018 scholarships. The Archbold Auxiliary scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students enrolled in a medical-related field of study.

Two different scholarships are available this year.

The statewide Elizabeth Wilmot Bull Memorial Scholarship is for applicants pursuing a health-related degree at an accredited college, university or health-related technical school in Georgia. The scholarship requires applicants to be at least a sophomore in college and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Each applicant must also provide an official transcript from the school they attend, two letters of reference and a personal narrative related to their occupational choice and goals. Applications for this scholarship are due February 5, 2018.

The Auxiliary is also accepting applications for its Archbold Auxiliary Scholarship that is awarded annually to area students seeking a career in healthcare. Students who received scholarships in 2017 are asked to reapply for consideration in 2018. New applicants and current recipients of the scholarship may pick up an application at the Archbold Memorial Hospital Information Desk. Applications must be completed and returned by March 6, 2018.

“All students seeking a degree in a medical-related field are strongly encouraged to apply for these scholarships,” said Imogene Conyers, chair of the Archbold Auxiliary scholarship committee. “All new applicants for both scholarships will be interviewed by the Archbold Auxiliary Scholarship Committee, and the committee will recommend students for scholarship consideration.”

“Auxiliary Scholarships are funded through Archbold Gift Shop sales and through donations made in memory or honor of Auxilians,” said Michelle Collins, director of volunteer services at Archbold. “We’re excited to award deserving students in our area scholarships that will help them pursue their dreams of a career in the medical field.”
