ready to guide you every step of the way on your weight loss journey. A board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon will oversee your care and will also perform your surgery. Our comprehensive team consisting of highly-trained physician’s assistants, a dedicated bariatric coordinator, and a registered dietitian will provide all the support you need to be successful on your weight loss journey.
Katie Hanisee, MD
Fellowship Trained Bariatric Surgeon/medical director
Dr. Hanisee completed a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Maryland, where she trained in performing gastric sleeve and gastric bypass operations minimally invasively. She is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is the director of the bariatric program at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Before training in Baltimore, she completed her general surgery training at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Joey Jarrard, MD
Fellowship Trained Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Jarrard completed a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City where he trained in performing gastric bypass and gastric sleeve minimally invasively. Before training in Kansas City, he completed his general surgery training at Mercer University/Medical Center of Navicent Health in Macon.
Jennifer Langdon, PA-C
Jennifer is Dr. Katie Hanisee’s physician assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in applied physiology and kinesiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She earned her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies at Keiser University. She will assist in the clinical oversight of the bariatric program patients.
Stephanie Thompson, PA-C
Stephanie is Dr. Joey Jarrard’s physician assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at the Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. She earned her Master of Medical Science degree at Mercer University in Macon. She will assist in the clinical oversight of the bariatric program patients.
Stephanie Wheeler, RN
