Archbold Asking for Input for Community Health Needs Assessment

Archbold is asking for the community’s input for their Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) survey.

A CHNA is the process by which hospitals, healthcare providers and public health organizations evaluate the health needs of the community they serve. The assessment helps to identify health challenges, gaps in care, local resources, and the strengths of the community. By gathering input from residents, the survey helps shape healthcare strategies that directly impact the well-being of the area.

“The results from this survey help Archbold plan, manage and evaluate community health initiatives,” said Todd Bennet, Clinical Outreach Manager for Archbold. “The results from our survey will help us identify the most significant health challenges in Brooks, Thomas, Mitchell and Grady counties.”

But why is taking this survey so important for our community? Here are a few key reasons:

1. Your Voice Matters in Shaping Local Healthcare

The CHNA survey is one of the most direct ways residents can have a say in the health services available to them. By completing the survey, residents are helping Archbold better understand the specific health needs and concerns of the community. This feedback is vital to ensuring that healthcare services are designed to meet the needs of all residents, whether it’s improving access to care, addressing common health issues, or providing preventive services.

2. Guiding Health Improvements

The results of this survey help identify health challenges that may need to be addressed or improved. This could mean bringing in new medical services, expanding current ones, or focusing on public health initiatives that improve overall wellness in the area. By identifying where healthcare gaps exist, Archbold can take steps to fill those gaps and provide more effective care.

3. Collaboration Across the Community

Archbold’s CHNA is not just a hospital project—it’s a community-wide effort. The results foster collaboration among healthcare organizations, local government, schools, and community groups. When everyone in the community, from hospitals to local leaders, is on the same page, they can work together to improve health outcomes for everyone.

4. Supporting Long-Term Health Planning

As a non-profit hospital, Archbold is required by law to complete a CHNA every three years. These assessments are part of a larger strategy to continually improve the health of the area. By providing feedback through the survey, residents are directly contributing to the long-term health planning that can make a difference in the years to come.

5. Ensuring Resources are Used Wisely

One of the most crucial aspects of the CHNA process is identifying the resources available and determining how they can be best used. By understanding what the community needs most, Archbold can make informed decisions about allocating resources—whether it’s funding, medical staff, or equipment—to areas where they will have the greatest impact.
