Archbold Orthopedics Introduces New Joint Replacement Option

Archbold Orthopedics Introduces New Joint Replacement Option

Dr. Nicholas Richardson, orthopedic surgeon at Archbold Orthopedics, has introduced a new method for robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement—Mako SmartRobotics.

Mako SmartRobotics Technology integrates 3D modeling and robotic arm technology during joint replacement surgery to allow for a more predictable procedure and a faster recovery. Throughout the process, the Mako system allows surgeons to create informed patient-specific plans, place implants with precision, and put patients on the most efficient road to recovery.

“The Mako system has been shown to protect healthy bone and tissue, lessen pain during recovery, shorten hospital stays, and raise patient satisfaction compared to manual surgery,” said Richardson.

“We are proud to offer this technology, and I encourage anyone with persistent joint pain who is looking for solutions to schedule an appointment with Archbold Orthopedics,” Richardson added.

Archbold Orthopedics is a new Archbold Medical Group specialty practice located at 505 Gordon Avenue in Thomasville. To learn more about robotic joint replacement options, please visit www.archbold.org/MAKO or call (229) 551-8600.
