Emily Taylor, PharmD, pharmacy manager at Archbold Mitchell, recently presented at the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP) spring meeting.
GSHP is an organization dedicated to the advancement of public health by promoting the professional interests of pharmacists practicing in organized healthcare settings.
Taylor led a presentation titled “Insights and Solutions for Rural Hospital Pharmacy Issues” alongside Kameron Huffman, PharmD, from PharmD on Demand in Savannah, Georgia. The presentation covered issues regarding frequent drug shortages, soaring expenses, changes in compounding regulations, as well as the ever-growing presence of technology.
“The presentation seemed to spark several discussions among the audience on how to solve these real-world problems,” said Taylor.
Taylor has been a part of the Archbold Mitchell team for the last eight years and also works closely with the Archbold clinics in Mitchell County.
“Emily is an integral member of our hospital’s interdisciplinary team,” said Carla Beasley, administrator at Archbold Mitchell. “She strives to provide safe, innovative and compassionate care and believes that for a community to grow and attract others, we must ensure access to local healthcare, as well as health education. We are so proud that she is a part of our team.”
