Archbold Revises Visitor Policy

Due to the decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations and positive cases in the community, Archbold has revised its visitor policy effective Monday, March 7, 2022.

Most significantly, there are no longer restrictions on the number of visitors per day for non-COVID inpatients at Archbold Memorial Hospital and its outpatient departments. Visitors will still be required to sign in at the security check-in desk upon arrival.

Patients at the hospital for an outpatient diagnostic procedure (radiology, lab, etc.) are also allowed to have visitors accompany them.

“We know how important visits from family and loved ones are to a patient’s healing process,” said Amy Griffin, Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services. “We are thankful that we are at a point in this pandemic where we can open up visitation again.”

While specific restrictions have been lifted, the following visitation policies remain in effect at this time:

• No children under the age of 12 are allowed.
• Policies for visitors at Archbold physician practices or inpatient areas of Archbold Brooks, Grady General Hospital and Mitchell County Hospital will be determined based on the specific needs at each location.
• Patients in the emergency department who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are showing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to have visitors.
• One (1) visitor allowed for patients in the emergency department who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not showing symptoms of COVID-19. Two (2) visitors are allowed if the patient is a minor.
• Policies for visitors at long-term care facilities will be based on guidance from the Department of Public Health related to positivity rates of the county and the nursing home.
