Registration for Archbold's CNA Training Program is now open.
The program, which started in 2017 as a collaboration with Work Source Southwest Georgia, is an innovative approach to combat the shortage of qualified Certified Nursing Assistants, particularly in the health system's long-term care facilities in Camilla, Pelham and Thomasville. The unique on-site training program helps meet the needs of individuals interested in a career as a CNA.
Students selected for the ten-week training program will be hired as Archbold employees while earning CNA credit hours. Students will earn an hourly wage while completing 140 hours of coursework and clinical hours. Upon program completion, graduates will sit for the Georgia CNA Certification Exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and will be placed in a full-time (40 hours/week) CNA position with one of Archbold's nursing homes.
Program applicants must meet the following criteria: Have a high school diploma or GED, must be able to pass reading and math skill assessments, cannot be enrolled in any other college courses during the program, must have a clear background and drug screen, must be tobacco and nicotine-free and must pass employment physical and drug screen.
The deadline to apply to the program is Monday, June 6, 2022. The program is limited to ten students and will begin on Monday, July 11, 2022.
