Archbold’s Grady General Hospital Breaks Ground on New Long Term Care Facility

Archbold’s Grady General Hospital has officially broken ground for its state of the art skilled nursing facility. Monday, May 24, 2021 hospital staff, medical staff, hospital authority, and residents in the community gathered in celebration of the groundbreaking.

“Archbold has a long history of investment in Grady County and this is just the next step of really offering the full continuum of care to the residents in this area and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Darcy Craven, President and CEO of Archbold Medical Center.

The new 66,000 square foot facility will be connected to Grady General Hospital and will feature 75 beds both private and semi-private; the semi-private rooms are a new design that provides each resident with their own bedroom area. The facility will offer rehabilitation services, skilled nursing services, wound care, medical care and pain management.

“This new facility will allow the residents of Grady County and surrounding communities the opportunity to bring and/or have their loved ones closer to home instead of having to travel to outside counties for this type of care,” said Charles Stafford, Grady County Hospital Authority Board Member.

I just want to say thank you not only to the residents of Grady County for being supportive of our hospital, I know they are extremely excited about this facility,” said Crystal Wells, administrator at Grady General Hospital. “I also want to recognize the dedication of our hospital authority board members who brought a vision to life. Their focus has always been the needs of our community.”

Construction on the $20 million facility is expected to begin by July of this year. It is set to be complete in May of 2022.
