The Tranquility Project Unveiled at Archbold Women’s Center
Friday, October 31, 2014
On Thursday, October 23, 2014, members of the Tranquility Project, a group of local young artist grades 5 through 10 led by Brookwood School 7th grader Isabella Grayson, gathered at the Archbold Women’s Center to see their artwork displayed on ceiling tiles in patient care areas for the first time.
Over the past several weeks, The Thomasville Center for the Arts hosted painting sessions for the young artists, many of whom were motivated to participate in the Project because of their personal family experiences with cancer. The hand painted ceiling tiles, which are intended to promote calmness in patients during their visit, display large vivid flowers on a background of Tranquility Blue and bright green leaves.
