Open House Wednesday for New Archbold Primary Care Facility

Monday, March 31, 2014

On April 2, Archbold Memorial Hospital will host an open house for the new Archbold Medical Group building located on Pinetree Boulevard near Publix in Thomasville.

Opening to patients on April 7, the newly renovated 15,000 square foot AMG facility will be the new home to Archbold Primary Care, a family medicine practice that sees patients over age 16 for chronic diseases, preventive measures, wellness exams, women’s health needs and acute conditions requiring hospitalizations.

“Archbold Primary Care opened in 2012 to help address the need for primary care providers in our region,” said Beth Stein, vice president of Archbold Medical Group. “Since opening our doors, Archbold Primary Care has experienced tremendous growth—we’ve added three providers to the practice in the last two years. This new location will give us more room to accommodate the growth in our patient volume and the tools necessary to advance the level of care for our patients.”

The design of the building features five “pods”—each accommodating clinic space for two providers. Archbold Primary Care will immediately occupy 16 of the 28 total patient exam rooms, leaving clinic space for an additional three providers. The medical building also provides access to advanced treatment technology including two procedure rooms, an on-site laboratory and radiology department equipped to provide convenient and instant access to x-ray services.

“The facility was designed with our patients in mind,” said Jason Griffin, MD. “By offering primary care, radiology and lab services in one location, we’re helping patients proceed to places of care quickly and efficiently, and we believe they’ll really appreciate that.”

The AMG building was designed with growth in mind, and though Archbold Primary Care will be the first practice to open in the facility, select specialty care will soon be added to the list of services offered.

“Having primary and specialty care, along with radiology and lab services under one roof will be a huge benefit for patients,” said Stein. “This model really puts the patient first and makes healthcare convenient for them.”

Archbold Primary Care physicians relocating to the new facility are Jason Griffin, MD; Dale Wing, MD; Kimberly Pickens, MD; physician assistant Bruce Allen, PA-C and nurse practitioner Heather Champion, NP.

The public is invited to attend the open house reception on Wednesday, April 2, from 4pm—6pm. Staff and physicians will be available for tours of the facility and to answer any questions.  Refreshments will be served.  For more information, please call (229) 584-5520.
