Friday, July 8, 2011
Do you suffer from health problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea or infertility?
Has your doctor informed you that losing weight would improve these conditions and your overall health?
The new Archbold Bariatric Weight Loss Program offers the most comprehensive range of weight loss services available in the region. This unique program is designed to help patients achieve their weight loss goals, improve their overall health and enhance their quality of life.
Archbold’s Program offers a range of individualized weight loss services and features a weight loss surgery component, commonly referred to as Lap-Band® or bariatric surgery.
As part of Archbold Memorial Hospital’s continuing Health Talk free community lecture series, John Mansberger, MD, and registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator Beth Lowe will present, “A New Service for our Region: The Archbold Bariatric Weight Loss Program, featuring Lap-Band® Surgery” on Thursday, July 14, 2011.
Dr. Mansberger will discuss obesity related health conditions and medical weight loss options available to help patients achieve their health goals—including Lap-Band surgery. Mansberger will discuss the medical criteria essential for a patient to qualify for surgery. Lowe will discuss the Program’s nutritional components and the unique support system that helps patients stay positive, focused and motivated.
Dr. Mansberger is board certified in integrative medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Mansberger serves as the Bariatric Weight Loss Program director, overseeing the evaluative and support portions of the program. Lowe is the program dietitian, counseling patients prior to surgery and following them for one year after Lap-Band® placement.
