Since Archbold Memorial opened, there has been an active group of interested area citizens who give the hospital their support and assistance.
Originally a Women's Board authorized by the hospital's board of trustees in May of 1925, the volunteer corps promoted and advanced the welfare of Archbold Memorial Hospital. Over time, this group was reorganized and is now known as the Archbold Auxiliary, with men, women and youth serving in many areas. Our Auxiliary is a member of the State Council of Auxiliaries/Volunteers and has received state recognition for its commitment and excellence in serving the hospital and the community.
Throughout the year, volunteers support families in the surgery waiting area, greet visitors at the Information Desk, support departments throughout the hospital and fulfill many other important roles. Volunteer opportunities exist for Archbold Auxiliary members at multiple Archbold locations throughout the region.
The Archbold Auxiliary also raises funds for special projects like the scholarship fund and special purchases for Archbold.
Since this group of area citizens began supporting the hospital in 1925, it has donated nearly $3 million, including approximately $627,500 in scholarships given out in the past 16 years to students preparing for a career in healthcare, and given nearly 250,000 hours of service.
